After a trip to the United States, Felix Youssoupoff decided to start his own couture house.
He had always loved to sketch fashion designs and possessed a true sense of elegance.
Short on financial resourses, he had to find the capital required to carry out his ambitious plan.
Legend has it that he raised the necessary funds by selling one of the most beautiful gems in his collections, the famous Polar Star, to Cartier.
Once the formalities had been taken care of and the money was available, the first fashion show of the new couture house, christened IRFE', could take place.
This vent was held in the autumn of 1924 at the Ritz, at the end of a ball given in honour of the great Parisian couture houses....
