Neri Fadigati Presidente del nuovo archivio Giorgini. An Italian journalist and photographer. He lectures at Richmond University Florence and Florence University of the Arts. He was born in 1953 in Florence, Italy. He studied Philosophy, with a focus on History of Science, at the University of Florence and Siena, where he got his degree, writing a thesis on Paolo Mantegazza and the introduction of scientific photography in Italy (major: Anthropology; grade: 110 out of 110). To pay for his studies he taught Italian at both Istituto Michelangelo and Centro Linguistico Sperimentale. His interest in Documentary Photography began during travels throughout Europe, Africa and North America. In 1979 he drove across the USA, lived in Los Angeles and traveled to Mexico. To gain further experience he worked in Italy and in New York, assisting David Lees and John Dominis, photographers for Life magazine and National Geographic. Since 1983, back in Florence, he has worked as a freelance professional photographer and journalist. His photographs and articles have appeared in the most important Italian magazines: Panorama, LÕEuropeo, Epoca, BellÕItalia, Il Venerd, Sette, Airone, Gardenia, Capital, Class, Focus, Le Vie del Mondo, Primo Piano, A Tavola, Ville & Casali, Vita, Verve international and in some foreign magazine: Figaro Japan, Harpers and Queen, Telegraph weekend magazine.
